![]() + The USNC is useless but also omniscient: Locke uses MAGIC COMPUTING POWERStm to track down the fact the Human-Killing-Superweapon is an Element which only exists ONE PLACE IN THE UNIVERSE on a fragment of the Halo Ring Master Chief destroyed. I get the impression the writer really wanted to have the Sedrans just believe in God while Earthlings don't but Halo isn't written by Isaac Clarke. However, Earthlings don't really consider belief in Valhalla to be all that respectable. ![]() Presumably, it was colonized by them and that's a large enough group in the 26th century to form a colony. + Sedrans are Asatru: No, seriously, they believe in Valhalla and the Norse Gods. The other ONI agents, hearby designated Asshole-1 and Asshole-2 with Just-A-Jerk, don't help matters by referring to Sedrans as superstitious backwater primitives with 200-year-old equipment. + Locke tries to play the diplomat but Randall hates ONI and is less than pleased about his whole dying daughter thing. Locke finds out the Not-Grunt was trying to tell Randall everything he wanted to know as he's a smuggler, not a terrorist. Locke solves this problem by, well, actually being able to and talking to the Not-Grunt. ![]() So he's beating the Not-Grunt to get answers, even though he doesn't speak the Not-Grunt's language and the Not-Grunt doesn't speak English. + Randall is pissed: Randall's daughter is dying because of this and he's ANGRY ABOUT THAT. It's not enough they look alike but it's mannerisms, speech styles, and attitude. Played by Sam Waddington, Randall is channeling Sean Bean to the point of demonic possession. + We meet Colonel Randall Aiken who is the head of the Sedra Colonial Militia. So, instead of a devastating weapon, it just doesn't work on them for some reason. + Bad Writing: The Anti-Covenant Weapon is treated like it could destroy humanity but the writers wrote themselves into a corner by having it go off right next to the heroes. However, we're to treat this as an existential threat to humanity and a Covenant ultimateweaponTM. It's also a SHITTY anti-human weapon and seems to kill a few hundred people across ten kilometers. The Sangheili then releases what was in the vial which is apparently an item which is an Anti-Human Weapon. + Locke screws the pooch and loses the Sangheili in the tunnel but catches up with him in a shopping mall. There's a deal going down with a Sangheili they observe but they screw the pooch and he gets away. ![]() + What follows is an exchange with an Alien which looks like a Grunt but isn't a Grunt because if it was a Grunt, it'd be shitty makeup but if it's not a Grunt, it's just a different alien from the Grunts who looks like a human with a Grunt's head. Which is something I've got to say is kind of off because at this point, the Covenant is trying to murder the shit out of the Master Chief and Company due to the whole Halo 4 business. + The premise is an ONI team is visiting the planet Sedra while searching for signs the Covenant is violating the Treaty. Before we begin, I should probably say the movie is actually fairly entertaining if not exceptionally so. It's a Direct-to-Halo: The Master Chief Collection video game which is also available on DVD. + Nightfall is a lead-in to Halo 5: Guardians which stars Luke Cage Mike Colter as Commander Locke.
